Thuc's wishful thinking. Boys will be boys. This 37-foot formation located in the northern area of Mammoth Hot Springs is a hot spring cone called Liberty Cap. The internal pressure of the hot spring that created it was sufficient to raise the water to a great height, allowing mineral deposits to accumulate over hundreds of years forming a cone shape.
