This was our second cross-country road trip from California to Maryland and back where we have family. This time, however, we had company. Our friend, Yvette, joined us on the eastbound leg of the trip which took about a week. Yvette had to get back to California for work so she had to catch a flight back home from Maryland.

Most of our route to the east followed along or around Interstate 10 across the southern states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. From western Florida, we turned north, re-entered Alabama and continued through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, to our destination of Maryland.

We spent about a week in Maryland visiting family. On our return trip, we took a more northerly route. From Maryland, we went north through Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Then were turned west, backtracked a little bit returning to Pennsylvania and spent a lot of time along or around Interstate 70 through the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and finally, back to California.
